day 87 of (us)

"Murky, dirty, but beauty still emerges"

jsl's current thought:
Long time ago, when I was about seven or eight, my parents decided to make our dull backyard into a beautiful garden. They have invested a lot of money into it, and even thought of a waterfall. My sisters, brother and I would always get so excited whenever we go to Petsmart to see the kois that are going to be in our pond. We would name them, feed them and go outside to look at them because they were so beautiful. The sad thing was they would always get eaten by raccoons or birds. After two years of living at Mercer Island, we've decided to move back to our old house. Our garden turned into a dull looking garden as we don't have the time to clean up our garden. The pond is filled with disgusting algae and our waterfall is covered with vines. I never thought I would see the beauty of our garden again. However it still exists, but shortly. The lily pads in our pond, even though covered with algae, brings beauty to our dull garden. It's small but still shows that it's healthy and lively. It reminds me of how we are as human beings. We are not perfect. We first start to have a concept in thinking that we create our perfect little garden, but however little by little it turns dull, thus laziness comes into picture. Even though we thought our perfect lives have become dull, there's still life into it if you have put in effort. Hopefully our garden will soon bloom again...like it did ten years ago
