"Fire is the test of gold; adversity of strong men"
- Seneca (philosopher)
current thought:
Our church has a soccer team. While I have my complaints about the some of the things the team does and doesn't do, I believe that these men are a fine example of strength. Strength in numbers, physical and mental strength.... motivational strength. The strength of their desire to win, to play... I think it's absolutely beautiful.
I have often envied the strength of athletes: the fact that they have this innate strength within them is so unusual and alie
n to me. I've never been a very strong person: I can barely lift 15 lb weights at the gym; I have little courage, and my self-esteem is like, below zero.
Where does this strength come from and how does one acquire and take control over it? That is my thought of the day.

"whatever road you take, move forward. your family and friends will be your foundation, but only you can make yourself happy"
though of the moment: whenever i'm walking around our huge campus, i always try to look for the quickest way to get to my location. i don't mind the mud, i don't mind the people blocking my way, i just want to get there asap. then i thought about what my mom keeps telling me whenever we have an argument: 'there is no shortcut to an easy life.'
i'm always trying to find what i want to do in the next five, ten years from now. i've been always wanting a relaxing, easy breezy lifestyle, but in reality everything in the world, what you gain, all depends on you as an individual. you may be stuck in the middle thinking about where you are in life. life is full of adventures, and i'm always willing to try new things and overcoming any obstacles. that's the fun and risks in life.
